Special Rack Used For Moving Large Steel Doors

Customer's Problem

A government project required large, movable steel doors to close off a section of a building.  Due to the weight of the doors, finding a drive solution became a problem.

Atlanta's Solution

Atlanta designed a special module 16.0 rack and pinion to drive the doors.  The rack & pinions utilized hardened teeth to handle the high driving loads, and to ensure a long operating lifetime.

The drive performed as expected and is still in operation today.
