ATLANTA4Customer Industry 4.0 App

ATLANTA Drive Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the ATLANTA4Customer Industry 4.0 smartphone app, which gives customers direct access to product data of ATLANTA racks & pinions and servo worm reducers, operating manuals, instructional videos, as well as special features such as product scanning and rack mapping.

The ATLANTA4Customer app is available free of charge at the App Store and Google Play. Scan the below QR code with your iOS / Android smartphone to download the app to your smartphone.

What is Industry 4.0?

Historically, industrial revolutions result in huge productivity gains, driving down product costs and increasing demand. Industry 4.0 is a German government initiative which is being called the next industrial revolution. It involves integrating people, product and machines to control processes and expand flexibility. The manufactured product, environmental variables and machine variables are tracked, measured, analyzed and controlled throughout the manufacturing process using smart devices or sensors.

The "Digital" Rack

The latest generation of ATLANTA racks are marked using a modern laser marking system. The marking is located on the left side of each rack and ensures proper identification and traceability of the rack. In addition to the part number, production lot and year of production, our racks also have a 2D matrix code and a serial number. This matrix code can be scanned with a smartphone using the ATLANTA4Customer app, which allows you to access the actual measurement data of the rack in the cloud and further information or tools.

With the world’s first "digital" rack from ATLANTA, you can enter the world of smart drive technology of tomorrow, providing machine builders huge performance improvements and productivity gains.

Product Scan

With the Product Scan tool you can access product-specific information stored in the ATLANTA Cloud. For example, when scanning the 2D matrix code of a gear rack, you will receive the following information:

- Part Number

- Production Lot Number

- Serial Number

- Quality

- Module

- Length

- Number of Teeth

- Total Pitch Error

In addition, you can access product catalogs, operating and maintenance manuals and instructional videos of the respective product.

Mapping Tool

The mapping tool allows you to determine the optimum assembly sequence of a defined number of scanned racks.

This tool can also be used to select the best racks out of a pool of racks to achieve the minimum possible total pitch error for an axis drive.

After all racks have been scanned, the minimum total pitch error is determined and the optimum sequence of rack assembly is specified. This allows machine builders to optimize their axis drives on site using standard racks.

Mapping Example:

Total Pitch Error of the Rack Set Without Using The App (Max Error ~ 0.018 mm)

Total Pitch Error of the Rack Set Using The App (Maximum Error ~ 0.010 mm)

Request "Clone" Rack

With this tool, you can request an identical replacement "clone" for the scanned product. Up to now, if it was necessary to replace a damaged rack on an axis drive, the complete set of racks had to be disassembled, the corresponding rack replaced, and the axis drive reassembled and aligned completely.

With the clone, the damaged rack can be replaced with an exact replacement, without having to disassemble and reassemble the entire axis drive.

To do this, you need to scan the rack which should be replaced with the ATLANTA4Customer app. When the "Request Clone" button is clicked, the specific data of the rack is sent in an e-mail to the ATLANTA to request a clone.
